Who We are…Certified organic garlic growers
Mad River Garlic Growers is a small sustainable certified organic family farm situated in beautiful Yellow Springs Ohio near John Bryan State Park. We live and farm on our nearly 10 acre property where we plant, grow and harvest approximately 80,000 bulbs each season. We are in zone 5/6 which is perfect for growing garlic. Due to our naturally balanced weather we receive sufficient rainfall and have never needed to irrigate our garlic. We plant, weed, harvest, hang and cure our garlic by hand one at a time and take the right amount of time needed to prepare our garlic for sale and shipping to you. Our seed stock is 100% certified organic, USA grown stock, and non GMO. We are honored you have visited our farm website and look forward to fulfilling your order.

Mad River Garlic Growers is proudly certified organic by OEFFA USDA. (OEFFA # 2446) We feel it is important that we farm without pesticides and chemicals and that we nourish our soil making it more beneficial for the next crop and for the health of our environment.
We test our garlic crop through Michigan State University and are free of garlic bloat nematode. Growing cover crops help to add nutrients and we rotate our fields to control disease and pest. We use only naturally organic approved (OMRI) nutrients and fertilizers. Our certified organic garlic is great looking and tasting that you can eat or plant straight out of the box. That’s how we have always grown our produce. We provide a beneficial habitat for the nature around us so leave the flowering milk weed undisturbed for the migrating Monarch butterflies.
We allow the deer to graze in our orchard at end of season. Moreover, we erect Eastern Blue Bird houses on the farm inviting the birds to be a part of our ecosystem and manage bug populations. We’ve been known to nestle salamanders back in the wet straw in our garlic field when they pop out during garlic harvest. We are just reasonable responsible people like you.
We ship all the garlic orders across the USA. Our garlic is home grown in our farms using the certified organic farming without the use of pesticides and harmful chemicals.
