Russian Red Garlic

Russian Red has beautiful purple skins. We love these in summer salads and Fall recipes. This is a garlic you will want to grow from year to year.   This is a hardy rocambole variety that grows well in most regions. Tolerant of moisture. 6-8 cloves per bulb. Approximately 60 cloves per pound. 5-6 month shelf life when stored well. Double cloves are common.  This is one of my favorites. PURPLE STRIPE GARLICS A strong rich taste noted as a great roasting garlic. Noted for purple coloration and striping. This variety has tighter cloves skins which result in a longer storage time. Needs a cold spell ( vernalized) to grow into larger bulbs.
